Dr Zama Thobeka Katamzi-Joseph
Dr Katamzi-Joseph is currently a researcher within the Space Research and Application division of SANSA and a research associate in the department of Physics and Electronics of Rhodes University (South Africa). She received her PhD from the University of Bath (UK) in 2011 which focused on dynamics of ionospheric perturbations observed from total electron content (TEC) measurements obtained from high frequency (HF) beacon on board geostationary satellites as well as ionospheric imaging using inversion method MIDAS which was developed by the University of Bath. Her current research interests include investigating the mechanisms that influence different ionospheric perturbations such as atmospheric gravity waves/traveling ionospheric disturbances, plasma bubbles and ionospheric irregularities using ground and space based instruments.
