Dr Vaggelis Kolokotronis
Dr Vaggelis Kolokotronis acquired his B.Sc in Mathematics from University of Athens in 1988. He then obtained his Diploma (1992), M.Sc (1993) and his PhD (1998) degrees all from Queen Mary and Westfield college, London.
He was a visiting researcher at the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) from 1999 until 2001 and a postdoctoral researcher (I.K.Y scholarship) at the Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics for the next 14 months. He also worked as a Research Associate of the X-ray Astronomy group on XMM-Newton related science projects (2002 – 2005). In 2005 he joined the Institute as permanent scientific staff. Since 2010 he has been working as science educator and communicator supporting the public outreach projects run at the National Observatory of Athens. Since 2014 he is a senior outreach officer at the Penteli Visitor Center. In TechTIDE Dr Kolokotronis is responsible for TechTIDE communication activities.
