Dr Ioanna Tsagouri
Dr Ioanna Tsagouri is Associate Researcher in the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing (IAASARS) of NOA. She received her BSc in Physics in 1994, her MSc in Physics in 1998 and her PhD in Space Physics in 2003 from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is a key member of the Ionospheric Physics Group of NOA since 2000 and key member of the Athens Digisonde and the DIAS system teams. She has participated in a number of European and international research and networking projects. Ioanna has long experience in the analysis of ground and space based observations for the investigation of the solar wind – magnetosphere – plasmasphere – ionosphere interaction. Her current research interests include: ionospheric experiments and monitoring techniques; ionospheric modeling and forecasting for space weather applications; validation of ionospheric models and services; development of semantic databases and ontology definition for near-Earth space e-science applications. She has published more than 45 papers in refereed journals and participated in more than 65 international conferences.
