Prof. Ivan Stefanov Kutiev is adjunct researcher in the IAASARS/NOA: PhD in ionospheric physics in 1973. Doctor of science in 1987. Head of Space Physics Dept. at the Central Laboratory of Space Research, BAS in 1971-1987 and head of Dept. of Ionospheric Physics of the Geophysical Institute, BAS in 1997-2007 and deputy director 1996-1999. National representative in COST 238, 251, 271, 296, ES0803, member of International Reference Ionosphere (IRI) task group, Visiting professor in the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS), Hokkaido University, and Nagoya University in Japan and Space Environment Laboratory (SEL) in Boulder, CO. Over 150 scientific publications in referred journals. Fields of research: space plasma measurements and analysis, ionospheric modelling and forecasting. Current research: modelling the topside electron density profiles, low-latitude ionosphere, TEC disturbances.
